Getting up and thinking about running sounds much harder for myself personally and it's easy for me to lose the motivation. However, knowing i'm going for a leisurely stroll and will be out in nature while listening to music or a podcast does not sound very hard - but a bit of enjoyment.

This is another important point. Manage your limits. We like to think we can conquer when we get motivated, but it's easy to get off track. Manage your expectations and mange your limits.

Some of us however may not have time in the morning to being too busy with family and work, so here are some other creative ideas to help you seamlessly include walking in your day-to-day life:

  1. Walking Meetings: Step out of the confines of a conference room and suggest walking meetings instead. Taking your discussions outside not only allows for fresh air and exercise but also stimulates creativity and provides a change of scenery that can lead to new perspectives and ideas.

  2. Opt for Extra Steps: Make a conscious effort to increase your step count by taking the long route. Park your car farther away from your destination to incorporate more walking into your day. I walk once a day between 7,500 and 10,000 steps depending on my availability. This allows me to burn almost 1 - 2 pounds a week with a simple diet and intermittent fasting.
